Currently pastoring Grace Lutheran Church in El Cerrito, Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Berkeley and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Afan Oromo service in Hayward. Temesgen is originally from Ethiopia and moved to the United States in 2010 for his study at San Francisco Theological Seminary (SFTS) in San Anselmo, CA. In his more than two-decades of ministry, Temesgen has served in different capacities, both at local and national churches in Ethiopia. Among others he was a pastor of a local church for 5 years, taught at Addis Ababa Bible College for four years, and served as National Director and founding member of a non-profit medical organization called Doctors Giving Back.
Temesgen graduated from Addis Ababa Bible College with a degree of Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Theology, 2006 and earned his M.Div from SFTS. in 2015. He received a certificate in Black Church and African Studies from the Graduate Theological Union, Berkeley and a certificate in Clinical Pastoral Education from University of San Francisco Medical Center, (UCSF, Parnassus). Currently he is working on a Doctorate in Ministry at SFTS. Apart from ministry, Temesgen enjoys reading, watching and playing soccer, basketball, and enjoying life with his wonderful wife Lidiya Jebessa and their three daughters, Sifen, Fenan, and Monet.
Music Coordinator
Diana Meux holds a B.A. of Music from UC Berkeley and a Master of Church Music from Concordia University, River Forest (Chicago), focusing on music composition. In 2001, she received the Richard Hillert Composition Award for her arrangement Variations on Picardy. Diana has been music coordinator at Grace Lutheran Church for over 15 years.
